Lutherville Acupuncture Wellness GardenFor many years I’ve held a vision of a place that offers a range of healing experiences. For me an important part of health and healing is not only what I do to the patient, but also what a patient does, what a patient learns, and how a patient lives.

With my new venture at the Lutherville Wellness Garden I now have a physical space where this vision can be realized. COVID has changed a lot of plans for many people, and in my particular case it has resulted in my new classroom space lying fallow. I grew up on a farm, and so the concept of “fallow” was a natural part of my understanding of the cycles of planting and harvesting. The fallow field is not inactive, it is replenishing. It is preparing to offer a more abundant harvest in the next season. So starting a new venture with a fallow garden suites me just fine! It allows time for the garden to develop and unfold naturally as the world slowly but surely emerges from COVID and people start to gather again. Here are some crops I’m planning on growing: the ancient arts of tai chi and qi gong, as these are in my view essential elements of Chinese medicine; yoga classes, another practice that brings us in contact with our own healing potential; classes in healing techniques based on “external qigong”, a healing modality that is every human’s birthright but is still largely unfamiliar in our western culture. I also welcome any and all who seek a group space to offer their own particular knowledge and techniques of healing and growth. This is the gift of the fallow time. What will it bring? Join me and let’s find out.
